Driveaway Service vs. Carrier?

Driveaway Service vs. Carrier?

I found a driveaway service for my upcoming relocation that’s cheaper than a trailer. Has anyone used this in 2026? I’m okay with the mileage, but is the delivery usually faster than waiting for a standard multi-car carrier dispatch?

Choosing a driveaway service usually gets your car delivered faster since it moves on your schedule rather than waiting for a full trailer load. However, keep in mind the added wear and tear plus potential road risks. If you want to compare the speed and safety of different transport methods, checking out towing car from state to state guides is super helpful. Carriers are often more reliable for long hauls in 2026, but driveaway is great if you're in a rush and don't mind the extra miles.

I used a driveaway service last year for a relocation from Arizona to Georgia. The biggest advantage was speed — once the driver was assigned, the car basically went straight to me instead of sitting around waiting for a carrier to fill a trailer. It arrived in 4 days, while the broker quoted 1–2 weeks for standard transport.
