NISHANT CHATURVEDI (Enrolment number-23304703): Prof. Habib from the University of Basrah expressed that "In quantitative scientific research, we need to present data in meaningful manner to come out with reasonable conclusions. Small sized data ,may be handled manually or using pocket calculator. If large set of data exists, then a statistical package is required. SPSS is one of these packages. When the data are correctly fed on SPSS, it can be a useful data base. SPSS is very helpful in data checking, in simple tabular presentation and in complex statistical analysis. A researcher handling numerical data and postgraduate candidates need to have and to know how to use SPSS or other packages."

TODAY'S DISCUSSION WAS VERY HEALTHY AND INSIGHTFUL. MOREOVER, WE WERE DELIGHTED TO INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER ON THIS SACROSANCT ACADEMIC PLATFORM OFFERED TO US BY OUR ESTEEMED UTTARAKHAND OPEN UNIVERSITY AND IT'S ARDENT TEAM MEMBERS!

Now, I would like submit my words pertaining to the assignment question given by our mentor Dr. Manjari Agarwal madam.

Taking example from my domain, i.e, Human Resources, SPSS makes a researcher's work very simple. Initially, one may experience a bit of challenge in terms of data entry as one needs to be very careful. I take a study - 'A study on the impact of financial rewards on employees' performance.'

Here, I may form certain objectives and based on that my methodology will be devised. This will be followed by Hypotheses formation.
We will adopt a scale and TEST ITS RELIABILITY. Once it is sufficient then we will administer the questionnaire among respondents belonging to our identified population, comprising of their demographics and items based on the adapted scale. Once we get the acceptable data, we will subject the data to several required tests like, error identification and removal, probability testing, establishing correlation and regression; ANOVA etc. as per the requirement.

Conclusively, we should be aware of which type of data we are adding and we may need some data cleaning in cases of outliers; once the tests have been successfully administered; the output received has to be cautiously and elaboratively interpreted to generate results that commensurate the hypothesis that may be proved or rejected in consideration of our pre-set research objectives. Additionally, SPSS is beneficial in corporate sector as well.
