Hi everyone,
One common question among the candidates getting prepared for Databricks Data Engineer Associate Certification is whether practice questions are sufficient or do we also need to focus on practicals. As per me, both have their own significance. Practical questions are useful in helping us understand our level of knowledge, spot any gaps in our learning and make us comfortable analysing real-life situations just like those in the exams. However, the practical experience teaches us how things work out when we have to create and manage pipelines in real-time. For instance, it becomes easy to learn about data ingestion, transformations, incremental processing, and workflow management through a practical scenario. We might be aware of the meaning of a concept, however, to implement them requires us to consider the various factors such as data quality, dependencies, failures, and troubleshooting of the outcomes. Concepts of SQL and Spark will also become more clear when we can work upon them practically on the data. In preparing for the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate examination, my recommendation is to start with the official exam guide and then practice the tasks within a Databricks environment wherever applicable, along with practice tests to discover areas that require additional study. While comparing different study approaches, I’ve been looking at how exam preparation resources cover the skills required for data ingestion, transformations, and workflow orchestration.I also came across this resource for the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate exam : https://www.pass4future.com/questions/databricks/databricks-certified-data-engineer-associate
