So I took my 2019 Range Rover Sport in for a routine oil change and brake pad replacement at a place I found near my office, and when I picked it up, everything seemed fine at first. But now, a couple of days later, I'm noticing that the infotainment screen is randomly freezing and rebooting itself while I'm driving, which is incredibly annoying and also a bit concerning because I rely on the navigation and reverse camera quite a bit. I honestly can't figure out if this is just a coincidence and the system happened to start failing on its own, or if maybe the shop disconnected the battery during the service and now some of the modules need to be reset or reprogrammed. I've tried doing the hard reset by holding down the volume knob for about 20 seconds, but that only seems to fix it temporarily and then the problem comes back after a few minutes. I really don't want to take it back to the same place because I'm not sure they have the proper diagnostic equipment to deal with Land Rover electronics, and I definitely don't want to go to the dealer because they'll probably charge me an arm and a leg just to run a software update. I was mentioning this issue to a colleague at work and he told me about Al Zaabi Autocare Abu Dhabi and said they have the right tools to properly diagnose and fix these kinds of electronic gremlins without trying to upsell you on unnecessary repairs. I'm hoping someone here might have experienced similar infotainment issues on their Range Rover and can tell me whether a simple software update or battery reset fixed it, or if I'm looking at a more serious hardware failure like a failing JLR module. I just want to get this sorted because it's driving me crazy and I don't want to deal with it every time I get in the car. Any advice or recommendations would be seriously appreciated right now.
Got my Range Rover back from service and now the infotainment is acting up – coincidence or related?
