How Timing-Based Games Can Improve Focus and Patience

I recently tried a simple arcade game called Tower Shot, which made me think about how timing-based games can challenge our concentration and patience.

The gameplay is easy to understand, but getting a consistent result takes practice. Players need to watch the aiming indicator, release at the right moment, and time their next action carefully to attach the shot to its target. Rushing often leads to mistakes, while paying attention to each movement makes the experience more manageable.

I find this type of game interesting because it encourages players to observe patterns, learn from failed attempts, and adjust their timing instead of relying entirely on luck. These small challenges can also be a fun way to take a short break between study sessions.

What do you think about casual games like Tower Shot? Do you believe timing and reaction-based games can help people practise concentration, or are they mainly a form of entertainment?
