Using a car from a driving school is usually preferable, in my opinion, as you are used to it from practice and it is already ready for the road test. It is possible to rent an automobile, but make sure it satisfies all DMV regulations. For unforeseen car problems, I also prefer to keep a Reliable Towing Service for Car in mind.
