2.1 INTRODUCTION

There are various things you can do on the Internet. There are many ways to keep up with news or buy anything online. You can pay your bills, manage your bank accounts, meet new people, watch TV, or learn new skills. You can gain knowledge from the internet or perform almost anything online.

Current use of Internet is becoming quite popular for accessing information on any topic of your interest. Nowadays, most of the users who have computers around themselves use Internet to access information from the World Wide Web, exchange messages & documents and e-services.

The internet is a collection of many small networks through which one host can be connected to another host anywhere in the world to share all kinds of information such as text, images, audio, video etc. The internet is the largest computer network of many small private, public, academic, business and government networks of computers. In the present age of information Technology, use of Internet is becoming quite popular for accessing information on any topic of your interest. It also provides tremendous opportunities to students; researchers and professionals for getting information on matters related to academic and professional topics and lot more. Internet date back to research commissioned by the United States Federal Government in the 1960s to build robust, fault-tolerant communication via computer networks. The linking of commercial networks and enterprises in the early 1990s marked the beginning of the transition to the modern Internet, and generated rapid growth as institutional, personal, and mobile computers were connected to the network. By the late 2000s, its services and technologies had been incorporated into virtually every aspect of human lives.

The Internet is aimed at enabling the interconnection and integration of the physical world and the cyberspace. It represents the trend of future networking, and leads the third wave of the IT industry revolution. Today everywhere we can see internet.
