2.8 GLOSSARY

• BHI – Refers to Beverly Hills Internet that launched “Geocities”. Geocities was a web hosting service. It allowed internet users to create simple websites for themselves.
• Google plus (Google+)- Google plus helps users video chat (hangout) and exchange information.
• eMarketer- It is a subscription-based market research company that provides insights and trends related to digital marketing, media, and commerce.
• Ephemeral content- It is a content that flashes across the internet for a second, maybe 24 hours, and then it’s gone.
• Live streaming: Video lets you experience events in your own time. Live streaming lets us do this in real-time, so everyone can be there-even when they’re not.
• Chatbot- It is a piece of software responsible to conduct a conversation through auditory or textual methods. Such programs are often designed to convincingly simulate how a human would behave as a conversational partner.
• AR – It refers to Augmented Reality which provides an interactive experience of a real-world environment where computer-generated perceptual information enhances the objects that reside in the real world.
• e-communication- It refers to electronic communication, enabling the transfer of writing, signals, data, sounds, images, signs or intelligence sent via electronic devices. Some examples of e-communication are email, text messages, social media messaging and image sharing.
• GDPR- It refers to General Data Protection Regulation which aims to protect the data and privacy of individuals in the European area.
• MiFID II- It refers to Markets in Financial Instruments Directive which aims to bring more transparency on prices before trading operations in order to regulate the European financial market and to improve the protection of investors.
